Thank You, Reviewers!

Fellow Trumpeters,

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for all of the positive reviews and feedback for Blitzfish on the App Store!

For anyone who has not yet downloaded Blitzfish, here are what people have been saying about the game:

Awesome! (5/5) by kileylovescake – “A charming and challenging game!”

So much fun, and very creative! (5/5) by Lil_Kim86 – “This is an addicting game! The gameplay is smoother and enjoyable to play. The graphics are awesome! Highly recommend this game!”

Very addicting! (5/5) by skizzy14 – “This is a great game to have to pass the time! It’s very addicting and it’s always fun to try and top your score. Once you get the hang of it you’ll be hooked!”

Challenging game! (5/5) by Joe Fox – “This is a very creative take on the side shooter style of game (reminds me of Life Force from the original NES days in a way). Fun characters, intuitive controls and as another reviewer noted, constantly changing maps so you never play the same thing twice. Looking forward to more from this company in the future!”

It’s difficult to know how good or bad your game is when you’ve been staring at it for a couple years during its development.  I am thrilled to have created something that you all enjoy playing.  Thank you all!

P.S. Blitzfish 2.0 is currently in development

Blitzfish Website Complete

Finally!

Once you mention to someone that you have a website, a common response you’ll get is: “Can you build me a website?”

I certainly know how to code in Objective-C, and I know that I could have figured out how to code a website from scratch in HTML.  In the past, for other websites, I used Apple’s iWeb, but unfortunately a while back, they chose to phase it out.  Knowing how easy a good graphical web editor makes setting up a website, I looked around for a good iWeb replacement, and found something even better.

WebAcappella is what I stumbled upon, and I’m very pleased with it.  I used this software to create my Blitzfish and Vibrapixel websites with ease.  It gave me easy access to important features such as SEO and automatic photo slideshows.  The only part that took a bit of coding was embedding my WordPress blog into the Blitzfish homepage, which was simply a code snippet inserted into an HTML area in WebAcappella.  It also has the ability to create a zipped backup file of your site, as well as restore a site from a zipped backup file in case something goes wrong.

Anyway, much of what I have learned from is public information on the internet, so I figured that I would make my methods public too for other aspiring independent game developers.  Keep on trumpeting!
